NASA Satellites Reveal Chemical Cloud On South Coast
ENGLISH CHANNEL, Earth - August 27, 2017: This image, from combined data from the MODIS instruments on the satellites of Aqua, Terra and Suomi NPP shows a large cloud of what is probably the gas that affected the people on beach at Burling Gap on the south coast of England, where hundreds of people reported sore eyes and other symptoms. In contrast to the image from yesterday (right from August 26, 2017) where there is no such cloud (NB No Photoshop curve correction on these images, literally the RAW data), the image on the left from August 27, 2017. The cause of the chemical cloud which led to yesterday's emergency is still a mystery - Picture by Atlas Photo Archive/NASA
