CASPIAN SEA, Earth - August 30, 2017: These NASA MODIS satellite images show the Caspian Sea on August 25, 2009 (left) and how it looks yesterday (August 29, 2017), right. Scientists from the University of Texas at Austin used satellite data in their report, which says that the Caspian Sea level has dropped by some 1.5 metres (5 feet) since 1996 and that rising temperatures (probably from climate change) is causing the massive inland sea to evaporate, it's current depth being around 1 metre (3 feet) - Picture by Atlas Photo Archive/NASA
