Also visible is Mount Pumo Ri (right, 7165m), Mount Changri (centre left, 6027m) and both Lobuche West (left 6145m) and Lobuche East (6119m) and the respective glaciers which are tributaries to the main Khumbu Glacier. A popular climbing route to the summit of Mount Everest (upper right) this glacier has retreated over 5km from where Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay set out to conquer the worlds highest mountain in 1953.
