21-27 Dec. 1968) --- A brightly-rayed crater on the farside of the moon near the sub solar point, where the sun was directly overhead, as seen from the Apollo 8 spacecraft. (HOLD PICTURE WITH THE CRATER SLIGHTLY TO THE UPPER RIGHT). Brightly-rayed craters are numerous on the lunar front side; however, they have not been previously observed in such detail on the farside.
