NEPAL Khumbu Glacier -- Dec 2005 -- Near the snout of the Khumbu Glacier, a popular climbing route to the summit of Mount Everest this glacier has retreated over 5km from where Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norguay set out to conquer the worlds highest mountain in 1953.
